One Sketch A Day.

I just got one of the greatest things I think I've ever purchased. It's a journal and a sketchbook all in one. I guess you could say a Sketchbook in journal form or a journal in sketchbook form. Puh-tay-tow Puh-tot-oh. I'm really really really excited about this because I need to get back in the sketch game. I was inspired a while back by my little step-cousin who wants to have her own fashion line and be president at the same time. We're going to remodel the west wing into our studio. Yep. We've got big plans folks. It was the first time I'd EVER met her this summer in Arizona but I'd heard about all her big plans and art skills for a while. We were swimming aka she was clinging to me in fear of deep water like most young children and we were talking about art and all things wonderful and out of no where she goes, "Teagan, do you know why I love drawing?" I obviously said no not knowing her very well and she responded, "It's the only thing in the world that I can do for me that I can do what ever I want and get out all my ideas and pictures and how I'm feeling with out anyone being able to say bad things about it. People can say bad things but it doesn't mean anything because I didn't draw the picture for them I drew it for me." I didn't know how to respond at first because I was shocked that this stream of knowledge just came out of an 8 year old's mouth. I just looked at her and said that it took me a LONG time to figure that out and that I needed to be reminded of it and that she should never loose that way of thinking. Then I stumbled on the One Sketch a Day and had to buy it. It's a perfect size and really well formatted for your sketches. Not to mention the more beat up and rough it gets the better it looks. The color kind of annoys me but I get the whole rusticy feel they were going for. Anywho, Check it out, buy one, get inspired. What better way to jot down your emotions than in a picture you can sketch while your in a car, waiting in line or at an apt, before class, at lunch or dinner, ALL THE TIME.  Ill do random posts with my daily sketches as soon as I dive in.

Here is an example of what the pages look like... obviously without the drawing.
