Dresses for your body type.

One thing I've learned being in the fashion world is no person is built the same as another person. It's strange, the industry fits a standard size and women freak out when they aren't wearing a small or extra small instead of not worrying about tags and dressing for their body. It's not about what size you wear, it's about dressing for how your body's built. There are four different body types, petite, boyish, pear, and hourglass.
Petite body's have small everything, and are usually short.
Boyish body's have slender hips, waist, and bust and are usually taller.
Pear body's have a small bust and waist while their hips and legs are usually bigger.
Hourglass body's are curvy on top, slender waist, and curvy hips.
If you're petite, you can easily overwhelm your figure and look like you're wearing your older sisters hand me downs. Since usually petites are shorter, you want to find a good hemline that hits about mid thigh to make you seem taller. Also, to make you seem like you have more curve shop for dresses that have detail that do just this. Finally, you should stick with solids rather than going for patterns that can sometimes overwhelm your figure.

If you have a boyish figure, you can do just about anything! Just play around and see what flatters your body the most! Same thing with petite if you add detail to the waist you can make yourself appear more curvy or you can find something with ruffles or something to make yourself curvier on top!

Highlight your figure's fabulous attributes! As a pear shape, show off your smaller top half and waist by having a well-fitted waist line and a flowy bottom half to accentuate (but not emphasize) your hips.

Fun holiday dresses can be frustrating to find when you have a sexy curvaceous body shape. Highlight your favorite attribute by showing off your arms, legs, chest, or back, but avoid revealing everything together. Also, accentuate your smallest point (often your true waistline or just under the bust). Shapeless dresses can make you look big all over instead of giving you the hourglass shape everybody envies.
